Pieces of advice
- Choose the time of the year: the best time is during spring or summer, since it is not too hot and there are less pilgrims than in July and August, which can be quite crowded.
- Try planning every stage and whatever you'll be needing (food, water...) in advance. This way, first thing in the morning you can start the stage without having to stop unnecessarily.
- Always take with you a small amount of snacks (dried fruits, raisins, nuts and chocolate) for an extra energy boost at any given moment.
- Use comfortable and 'breathable' shoes and clothing. To avoid blisters and foot injuries, massage Vaseline into your feet before putting your socks on. We recommend not having a shower immediately before setting off because hot water encourages blisters.
- Try taking the necessary equipment only: avoid taking unnecessary pieces of clothing. This way your backpack will be easier to carry and be lighter for your stages. If you place your sleeping bag at the bottom of your backpack, it will feel lighter.
- We recommend the anatomic type of backpack with a waist-band as the most efficient backpack for this journey.
